A morning fall.

Good morning from a very autumnal Ayton. The fields may still be full of their corn, but there is a very discernible nip in the air.
Not that I’m complaining…I love each season as it comes around. Autumn is a time of blasts of spectacular colour, conkers, berries, kicking piles of fallen leaves, chilled bird song, rutting deer, migrating birds and bales of hay, set out in the golden fields. It makes my soul sing.
Inside we cosy up our homes, dig out the throws, turn the heating on, eat soup and crumpets, and snuggle up on the sofa.
One day it’s still warm enough for sandals and bare legs, the next requires boots, leggings and jumpers. The big winter coats are still waiting for their first outing. Will they be required sooner, or much later?
After the ferocious heat of the summer, the more gentle temperature of the fall is very welcome.
How do you feel about autumn?
Thanks for stopping by.
Until the next time.

  1. Nice post. I love Ayton and Scarborough. My Raymond’s brother was evacuated to Brompton during the war. We used to visit occasionally..
