Are you a clutter bug, or a minimalist?

shutterstock_219248524I broke my desk. Yes, you read that right. Just how did I manage to do that? Did I sit on it, jump on it, smash it up?

Regular readers of this blog may recall that my desk is/was an old, painted writing bureau, that once upon a time belonged to my late father-in-law. Well, the drop down leaf saw too much action [I’ve clearly been overdoing it on the writing scene] and parted company with the rest of the bureau. We’d attempted to repair it, but it finally gave up, at the weekend.

So, it’s all change here. The new desk is arriving this morning…and I’ve been de-cluttering like crazy. Hubby and I did a run to the local tip yesterday … most satisfying. Freedom from clutter and stuff we don’t use, but for some ridiculous reason we feel compelled to hang on to. Why?

Well, some of us do. Not any more. There’ll be a few more trips to the tip in the coming days.

I’m going to have a fabulous work area. It won’t be minimal…I don’t do minimal. I’m a clutter bug. But, I can do de-cluttered. When I’ve finished it, I’ll share some pictures with you . Bet you can’t wait!

Whilst we’re on with the subject of photographs, what happened to my boudoir big reveal? I’ve now decided to re-paint the walls a different colour, to look better with the feature wall. I had even toyed with the idea of re-painting the feature wall, but my hubby likes it and argued the case for keeping it. Yes, I know…I’m a pain in the arse! I get bored very easily and things are always changing, where I’m concerned. When I’ve finally finished messing around with it I will reveal all. I have absolutely no idea when that is likely to be, though. [Something else for you to not look forward to. All of these threats, hey?]

So, are you also addicted to stuff you don’t need, and why? Or, are you an expert at de-cluttering? Why not share your thoughts with us?

Thanks for visiting and have a brilliant, uncluttered day.

Until the next time.

  1. Sometimes I wish I was. I’ve tried and the stuff creeps back in. LOL! Then I have a clear out and the stuff creeps back in and so on! No hope for me. LOL! x
