#Sunday Blog Share : a thank you for visiting and commenting

Today I want to say THANK YOU to my followers, people who have liked my posts and for the comments that have been made.

I want my thanks to be heard and so I am sharing them on The Sunday Blog Share, which is the brain child of Suzie, who has a fabulous blog  here.

Trawling through the blogosphere recently, I noticed how many of us bloggers are making changes to our blogs. I think this time of the year is synonymous with having a fresh start. It’s a new year – let’s have a new look blog, and whilst we’re at it let’s change our homes.

This week I’ve been looking at doing both. I’m in the process of re-designing our bathroom into a shower room. The bath is causing problems for my hubby and I’ve taken to tripping over the edge of it as well. So, it has to go.

That has got nothing whatsoever to do with blogging, except the spirit of change also extends to my blog.

So, I’ve been re-designing my blog as well. No – that sounds way too posh… I’ve been pratting around with about three hundred themes on it.  On my blackest and most stupid day this week, I had all three hundred of them on here, for nano seconds. This was until I realised:

  • They were absolutely not me
  • They were actually too complicated
  • They weren’t cluttered enough
  • They were really quite hideous
  • I couldn’t actually understand them

Finally, I settled on this one. I hope you approve.

I’m always delighted and surprised when some of you take the time and the trouble to comment on here. I am trying to speed up my response to those comments.[I plan to blog about this… plan being the operative word.]

More and more of you are commenting, so it’s a big THANK YOU for that. Here are some of the things that have been said this week.

Colleen Chesebro, who blogs at Silver Threading , had this to say:

“I think the changes are good. I like this look. The more we write and evolve, the more our blog should change.”

Ladysighs said:

“Blame all the change attitude on the weather. I’ve tried changing themes, but always come back to the familiar.”

Hugh, at Hugh’s Views and News left this comment :

“I made a big change to my blog theme last October because the one I was using did not display the widgets.

Then I did my blog diet last month and changed a few things like colours and fonts to give it a fresh look for the season, and I’ve had some good feedback. I think changing the way your blog looks from time to time is an excellent idea as it gives it new life. Yes, it can be a lot of work and get you frustrated because things don’t look right or work, but once you get it looking the way you want, you can sit back for a few months before starting all over again.”

Finally, but not least. Katie, who blogs at plus+beauty27 left me this comment:

“I really like this look that you have right now. I need to change my messy apartment into a clean one lol.”

I’m also thrilled that others took the time to like my posts and follow me. We all like to feel appreciated don’t we? I could give you more information about the blogs of the above bloggers, who have also become blogging friends, but I think if you go and check  out their blogs you will see why I love to follow them.

There are many other blogs that I enjoy following and others who have commented; but if I listed them all here the post would probably run to about 5000 words. A bit long for a post!

A lot has happened in my year of blogging and I will be posting about that, in the coming weeks.

For now, I say many thanks again for visiting, liking, following and commenting. Also thanks to Suzie, who also tweets at @suzie81blog or @SundayBlogShare .

Have yourself a great Sunday.

Until the next time.

  1. I think your theme us fab. The subtly of the background fits right to a T. Your writing style is ever gripping and your photos call to be gazed into. Being connected to you now is gifting such Joy to myself and hopefully the world – seriously. Peace. Love

  2. Hi!
I know Suzi and also use the #SundayBlogShare hashtag. Is that how you found me?
Thanks for visiting my site today. I’m glad you liked my post “Blog Growth…A Cheat Sheet.”
    Nice to meet you.

    1. To be absolutely honest with you, I can’t remember how I found you. I had quite a busy day on both of my blogs, yesterday. I also read so many other blogs and commented… it’s all a blur. LOL. But, one of my favourite ways to spend a rainy Saturday afternoon. Thanks for commenting. 🙂

  3. I really like the theme. I have never seen one like it. So interesting, good colors, and very important — you’re using a very dark colored font on a plain light colored background — good readability. I see too many otherwise good blogs that i don’t read because it’s just too difficult on the eyes. Great choice. Hugs.

    1. Many thanks for your lovely comments. I have changed the theme and background so many times. I get bored easily.
I know where you’re coming from with the readability. Some blogs just aren’t eye friendly. Such a shame, because I’m sure they would be very good if they re-thought the visual aspect of them.
Good to meet you and thanks for dropping by. x

  4. Hi Dorne, it was lovely to see your name on my blog today. Thank you.
I do love your design, it is artistically appealing, easy on the eye and fun.
As today is my 2nd month in blogging I will re-think once I know what I am doing.
Be happy in your re-designed blog and shower.🎶😊

    1. Hi Miriam,
Sorry I’ve only just spotted this. Thanks for dropping by and it’s good to meet you and I love your blog as well. I’m in the process of changing my blog again… it’s easier than changing the house around! x
