The eclipse that never was…well, not here anyway.

A super moon, lunar eclipse: opportunities like this don’t come that often. So, I set my alarm.

At 2.00 am it was looking great. The beautiful, bright, white moon was still shining down from a clear sky. I rolled back into bed and dreamt of an amazing experience to come.

3.oo am prompted the gentle melody of my phone alarm, into action. We sleep with the window blinds up and I could see that the beautiful stars had been stolen… by beautiful blue/grey clouds. The moon was no more.

So, that was my experience of this particular event. I believe it happens in another 30 years time. By then, if I am still around I will be an old lady. My daughter will practically be a pensioner and my grandson will be around the age that she is now, quite possibly with children of his own.

I wonder whether we will see it then?

How was it for you? Did you manage to witness this fantastic event?

Thanks for visiting.

Until the next time.

    1. Lucky you. I should imagine that brilliant image will stay with you for life. Thanks for dropping by here and taking the time to read and comment. I will check out your blog, of course. Good to meet you. 🙂

  1. I am sorry to say that I missed the eclipse. I had good intentions, but not the will power to actually make it out of bed. I’ll get an absolutely huge and noisy alarm clock for the next one when I’m 93.

    1. I know, I love my bed too. But, the thought of capturing it with my camera spurred me on.
Never mind. If I’m still around and I know who I am, and where I am, I shall try in 30 years time. Let me know where you get your alarm clock from. LOL! 🙂

  2. Where I live it occurred early in the night and we had a beautiful star-spattered night sky….but we live in the woods! Trees trees trees. I could tell it was there through the branches. I’ll have to be satisfied with photos.
