You’ll either find this amusing… or not.

I’m still in the process of ploughing through my never ending blog posts. Embarrassing or what?  I can tell you a lot of them are being trashed.

I came across this though and it never fails to make me laugh.

It’s not everyone’s idea of funny, but it’s mine. You know I’m weird anyway. Right? I just happen to think that this is very clever and the singing voices make it for me.

Incidentally, I love the proper version and to prove that I’m not completely nuts here it is, as well.

Thanks for watching/listening and reading.

My hero…Andre Previn!

This a blast from my past…on here and from my youth.

Lovely piece of music, Rachmaninov (symphony no 2) and conducted by a genius, Andre Previn. My hero.

As a teenager I played clarinet in various orchestras and bands. It still thrills me, thinking about the high that you get as the music flows. You’ve learnt your part, perfected it and then the moment of truth. It’s akin to magic as the music is reproduced. It’s one of the best feelings in the world. I dabbled with the notion of playing clarinet professionally, in an orchestra at one point. But life took me down a different road.

Where would we all be without music? A world without music would be unthinkable.  I think it lifts or souls.

Thanks for dropping by.

Morning coffee: with a few starlings.

This is a post borrowed from my other blog. As you may know I am working on combining the two on here.  I thought that these two videos deserved another airing and they’re perfect to watch with a mug of morning coffee. Enjoy!

The starling: a beautiful (look at his colours) and very clever bird in his own right. But, put him with a few friends in the fall and they can do this:

Want more?

Unbelievable indeed. Quite how and why they do this seems to be a bit of a mystery. But, sometimes it makes nature’s spectacles all the more magnificent, when we don’t have all of the answers and we can just observe things like this…through child-like, wondrous eyes. We don’t know everything and that is okay.

It is one of my dreams to film a display like this one day. If I ever manage it, I will post it on here…I won’t be able to help myself.

Nature at its most amazing.
